City's Bellamy likely done for season

Soccer Betting Lines

04/21/2009 - Manchester, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy looks set to miss the rest of the season with the knee injury he picked up in the UEFA Cup quarterfinal first leg defeat to Hamburg earlier this month.

The Wales international has struggled with the problem for several weeks and has been told rest is probably the best cure.

Boss Mark Hughes told City's official website: "Craig's got to have complete rest for two weeks and then he can come back for some strength work.

"Hopefully he might get the last couple of games, but the probability is that he won't."

Meanwhile, Shaun Wright-Phillips is struggling to recover from the ankle problem that has ruled him out of the last three games, with Hughes adding: "He had a bang on the bone and it's still sore but the scan was positive.

"Once the swelling in and around the injury has settled then hopefully he'll be an option again.

"Valeri Bojinov is still a little bit short. He needs more physical work, and we're hoping he comes through at Boro to be available at the weekend."
